Part of the SOLV Online Resources

Why Grey Lit?

Publications by fisheries agencies have a different kind of impact factor: Much of it is developed in response to specific questions from managers or policy makers, and directly influences operational decisions (status and threat assessments, harvest planning).

Goals

Facilitate access to this vast body of work, encourage its use, and build a resource for scientometric analyses. Patterns in these publications reflect the day-to-day working environment of the scientists who study our fisheries and ocean environment.

Contents

GreyFish currently covers 18,284 reports published since 1959 by 6 agencies from 4 countries, spread over 41 report series, as well as 63 interactive online applications (mostly in Shiny).
